wilderness wild near us, still pg 4

Join us for our 26th annual celebration of the migration through San Francisco Bay of more than 1 million shorebirds and hundreds of thousands of ducks, geese, hawks and other wildlife at the peak of migration. February 5-7, 2021

After decades of questionable power, freezing cold winds blowing through old barns, and porta potties, I’m certain you will agree that just snuggling under your favorite blanket on the couch, could be a fun Flyway Festival! One thing is guaranteed. It’ll be different; life sure can be convoluted. Still, it will be good, won’t it, to come together for our migration celebration once, again.

Even with the Sierra Club, Redwood Chapter’s support, I’m asking you to help us stay aloft as the host of the Flyway Festival by making a donation of whatever amount you can, as you have at the entrance for the previous 25 years of our Flyway Festival.

Over the past year, nearly 7,700 of you have signed and shared our online petition (http://chng.it/wtqYqngM) intended to send a clear message to our Vallejo elected representatives asking them to work to return our nonprofit as the gentle and skilled managers of the Preserve. Will you please sign and share?

You can help underwrite the Flyway Festival and our “Preserve the Preserve” campaign when you make a donation (PayPal.me/mareislandheritage09).

Will you join us this year as a VIRTUAL Flyway Festival guide, presenter, exhibitor, vendor or a non-profit organization or agency? Will you tell your friends, co-workers and family about the Virtual Flyway Festival and plan to attend? Will you volunteer? Call/text or email me at 707-249-9633 [myrnahayes@mac.com] with questions and suggestions. In whatever way, please help us ensure our 26th Annual Flyway Festival is a great event. We are most grateful.

Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things break. And all things can be mended. Not with time, as they

say, but with

So, go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally.

The broken world

waits in darkness

for the light that

is you.
